The Ooma Office Business Phone System has come a very long way.I purchased this product in 2014 and I now feel it has been a sufficient amount of time for me to properly review not only this product but also the company as a whole.The product itself is a very good bargain. (Yes it's expensive up front, but the box pays for itself with the savings you get from your monthly bill) In our case, it took only 1 month to pay off the entire equipment. Our regular landline phones were totaling over $600 a month. Our first service invoice from Ooma was $112.00. Within that first month alone, we had recuperated our initial set up costs (equipment and time setting up), paid for a full month of service and still had $300 savings compared to the month prior.The equipment since day 1 has never malfunctioned or has never needed to be replaced although at there was a period of about 6 months were we kept having interrupted service. (I later found out that this was due to the company moving and causing disruptions and doing updates in the middle of business hours) Due to this, there has been a lot of backlash from customers including myself, but I can honestly say that these issues have not happened for well over a year.The benefits of having this system for a business office include not paying a physical receptionist to answer and sort incoming calls. This is huge for a small business like ours. The virtual receptionist directs calls to the correct individual before we even hear the phone ring. Furthermore, it keeps most of the annoying telemarketers out. Any business owner knows how frustrating it is to have incoming calls from fax machines, or telemarketers wanting to sell products. The virtual receptionist keeps them at bay and offers the business to focus on important tasks. The system navigation and controls are extremely user friendly. This enables small businesses to set up a answering service that will satisfy the needs of the business all without being complicated like server based answering systems that require an actual installer to set up.In the recent years Ooma has really expanded on their office line and it is now possible to connect bases together to grow the system to more than 5 extensions. The system is fully customizable and with a little tweaking here and there, you can set up a system that will work for your exact needs.The support staff from Ooma are really great, and easy to reach through live chat or phone. I like that you are able to send and receive faxes without wasting paper and the efficient and professional look of the overall system is great.I would recommend this product to any small business owner.
