My office no longer has physical phone lines. We have to login to Microsoft Lync to make calls. I used to connect a USB headset to do this. This product has some advantage over headset.Keypad: When I use a headset, I have to use the numbers on my keyboard to make phone calls. To do that, I have to open the Lync application, key in the numbers and click "Dial". The keypad on the P240 automatically dials the number on Lync without opening the Lync application. There is also Mute and Speakerphone function on the P240. As good as any business class phone.Ringer: Previously when I am using a headset, audio on Lync channels directly to your headset. If your Lync softphone rings and you are not wearing your headset, chances are you will miss the call. The Lync application will notify you but if you minimize your Lync window, you won't notice. The ringer on the P240 alerts you just like a normal phone would, it rings.The main drawback with this phone is the Speakerphone mode. Using this mode, the microphone picks up a lot of ambient noise. No problem if you are alone in a hotel room, but not if you are in an open office or a cafe. At max loudness on speakerphone mode, the audio distortion also makes it hard to hear what the other caller is saying. It is usable for a single person handsfree, but not for a teleconference in a meeting room with more than 3 people.Our company VOIP software requires a plus (+) sign in front of every phone number not listed in the address book. This phone's keypad does not have a plus sign and the normal way to get a plus inserted (long press on 0) does not work either. As a result I must use the software on the computer to dial, which reduces the functionalty considerably.Perfect for making the Calls on the computer without everyone hearing the other end.Very good.We installed a new Cisco VOIP solution and purchased these for about half of our (50) office. The sound quality was bad and also the phones did not work properly. We had the plantronics software loaded along with the Cisco personal communicator. The phones when you answered them with the handset would sometimes not answer properly and the person could hear you but you could not hear them. This is with all 50 that we purchased. I opened a ticket with plantronics and they said they could not duplicate the problem and left it at that no more help from there. Don't waste your money on this junk.Despite installing and running the Plantronics Hub (to the letter), the handset will not dial out. Somewhat disappointed with this produce considering the price paid. Overpriced for what it is/does.Igual se echa de menos una mayor integración con Lync que para eso el Lync certified y tiene pantalla. Y como siempre el precio de todos los dispositivos Lync certified es muy mejorable.
