Smart Housing has always been an interest in my own home, but DIY smart housing isn’t cheap, especially smart door lock systems. Other competitors that I have seen are a bit too expensive in my opinion and I wanted to find a more budget friendly smart lock. I came across this lock and I was a little hesitant to purchase because of the price. The Lock: The lock is well built and pretty low profile. I’ve seen other competitor automated locks where the indoor part looks like you mounted a mini drum on your door, and they don’t even have a keypad. As for that keypad. I never realized how convenient it could be. When I leave the house, I just press a button and its locked. Programming can be a little confusing, especially when manually programing codes on the lock itself, but it wasn’t enough to lose a star. Be sure the switch is on the 2 when programming. Let me elaborate on the switch on the battery tray a little more. That switch determines what direction the lock will lock. So, if you press the lock button and it doesn’t lock, switch to the other number. So, once you are done programming on the 2, either leave it on 2 or switch to 1 so it locks properly.Hub Door Sensor and App: Install the door sensor on the same door as the lock. Plug in the hub and place in the same room as your lock and sensor. App is pretty intuitive just make sure you download EQL Pentagon, NOT the MiLocks app. The app itself is pretty straight forward. It goes through registering an account and also helps you connect the hub to your wifi and phone first. Once the hub is good, then add device and connect your lock and door sensor. You can program codes on the app without having to mess with the lock like mentioned above. Works pretty good, just be sure that your door alignment, when its closed, lets the latch cleanly enter your door frame. I can Lock/Unlock the door with my phone. It may sound like an easy thing, but its so worth it cause I have control over my door ANYWHERE! (as long as the wifi is strong). One more big major thing! ALEXA COMPATIBLE!Overall, I am happy for this lock. Affordable (considerably), intuitive app, full control anywhere you are. A great pick up looking to budget smart house their home.Do not buy this set. App is no longer available and no response from customer service. Can not use as a smart lock. Keypad use only.I don’t comment on products too much, but this product was so useful that I felt like I should. I live in a house with roommates, and we’re pretty lenient when it comes to letting our close friends or significant others come in without a problem. After getting this, we don’t need to make them a physical key at all. We can either give them their own code, or they can call us and we can unlock the door for them if we are not in the house or just too lazy to go to the door to unlock it. Installation was painless - no locksmith needed. All we did was pop out our existing lock and put this in its place. We did have to do a bit of adjusting (actually my boyfriend had to make the door adjustments) so the part that slides into your doorframe goes in cleanly. Other than that, I love how this lock made everything convenient for us. Now we can have friends come in and go whenever we please without having to go through the hassle of giving each other keys. I definitely recommend this product. The app that makes this smart hub work (EQL Pentagon) is no longer available on the Play Store. I will change this review if someone from the company gets back to me after emailing them at 3 different support email addresses. Without an app, it's just a regular manual deadbolt. If they don't fix this I'm going to ask Amazon for a refund.Smart lock works well together with the control and open/close sensor. The EOL Pentagon mobile app works seamlessly with control and devices and even works with Alexa to lock, unlock and check door status. The auto lock feature works beautifully with open/close sensor. It is a great product. Time will tell how good its battery power consumption is. Come back to update the battery info. Occasionally, the lock will show low battery in the app. I mistook it once and replaced the battery. Once you use the app to lock/unlock, the weak battery warning will be gone. Will update a month later. 12/13/18 have been using it for one and a half month, the battery is still okay even with the auto lock activated. The mobile app is faithfully recording all the door unlock, open, close and lock events. Very happy with this smart lock combo. This product so extremely easy to install. It took my around 5 minutes at most. It also came with a smart hub and sensor. Which are also very easy to set up. I couldn't set my lock to my phone. But within minutes tech support called me back. And helped me with the whole process. It is really cool to unlock and lock my door from my phone. And I've price shopped for a month. And this one has all the features I wanted and it was the most reasonable priced. So I've had this for a few days now. Working great. Had some trouble with the app at first, but was able to call their customer service and it's up and running great. Def worth the price. The auto lock feature when the door sensor the door is closed is awesome. In order to do that, you need to link the door lock and sensor in the app. And was able to unlock my door for a friend when I was not at home. After i finally got it setup I have to keep resetting the hub. It is annoying.
