I have a DIY system with Windows 10 dual boot setup. I've always disliked sending and receiving sensitive information by email or file sharing. To me, using old school FAX is safest of all, as the old-fashioned public telephone is, in fact, intensely private. So, I looked for a FAX solution and found one in adding a USB FAX modem to my system and FAX Talk Center Pro V.11. I have a landline connection through AT&T fiber optic cable, including Ethernet. Now, I needed to share a landline with FAX and the problem of getting a FAX/Phone switching electronic solution, rather than trying to make do with a manual splitter. I chose the Comswift 7500. The setup instructions are complex, and you must follow them scrupulously. Plus, there is the problem of setting up a dial-up connection and compatibility with AT&T cable. I rely on Ethernet and do not use highly vulnerable Wi-Fi. I put it all together and, after calls to FAX Talk and conversations with Copilot (by which I now will swear), I set it all up. It works! But you must be very patient and thorough with studying the complexities of windows, FAX Talk and the public telephone system. I tried it out successfully by sending and receiving tax information. It works and I strongly recommend it.
